Flying Solo welcomed over 600 guests at their fifth New York Fashion Week show on Saturday, February 9th at Pier 59 Studios. With the theme of “Transformation,” Flying Solo redefined the power of creativity, unity and inclusivity of an independent designer scene.
With an energetic format and a focus on diversity, Flying Solo showcased more than 200 looks by more than 50 designers. The show is proving to be one of the most cutting-edge fashion events during New York Fashion Week, presenting a wide array of womenswear, menswear and accessories.
Notable attendees included Alla Kostromichova – Ukranian model, TV host; Lola Karimova - visionary behind The Harmonist; influencers Sky Days, Mariah Bernardes, Sofie Valkiers.
America’s Next Top Model breakout star Khrystyana Kazakova walked the show for second time along with model Irene Stepanenko.
Headlining for the show this season was model/influencer Paulinha Sampaio. With a mission of being diverse and inclusive, Flying Solo strives to deliver this message through their cast of models and designers all around the world.
Founded by designers themselves, in just over 2.5 years, Flying Solo has proven to be one of the biggest fashion platforms for independent designers. It was created as a unique, curated fashion retail incubator and showroom operated by a selection of talented, independent designers. Consisting of like-minded, creative and connected fashion professionals, its focus is to close the gap between designers and consumers while exposing collections to press and media.
