MONALIZABETH BY ELIZABETH BROWN
"My vision is rooted in a reality that turns into a story, transformed into an artistic expression, a show, creation of a surprise.
Fashion for me is a visually expressed view of an imaginary world that becomes tangible” - Elizabeth Brown
Elizabeth Brown was born in Russia and raised in Israel from her very early years in childhood.
Her professional journey as an artist and a designer starts in Italy at Instituto Marangoni Milano as her first step. She took some studies experience as well in Marangoni London as Elizabeth finds business one of the most massive and important thing for being a successful artist. .
After her experience in Milan she has returned to Israel and opened her own Brand and was selling in one of the most know designers boutiques in Israel named Razili. While designing for Razili she joined Shenkar college of Design for a bachelors degree in fashion and for her second year she transferred to continue her education and exploration of cultures PARSONS The new school of design. As an explorer and culture lover she choose to make one year in their Paris campus, and after she graduated at Parsons school of design, New York campus.
All those cultures around the world are part of Elizabeth’s mixed aesthetic.
As a Women’s and men’s wear designer, Story-telling has always been the core component of her entire being.
Stories represent a passage to an unusual reality where real life rules become irrelevant to her, time and gravity may disappear, other forces may take control.
The stories that she creates could take place where one may break the chains of society, outlive forbidden instincts and go completely out of one’s mind….
Elizabeth was a finalist for her menswear collection in 2017 at the CFDA and on 2018 for Swarovski Partnership with her Fall Winter collection.
Tailored details and couture craft are what matters to her . She likes taking her traditional knowledge, explore and give it her own interpretations. She has passion to create garments that are presentational, extravagant, fantastic with a theatrical flair.
A sort of twisted romanticism came to distinguish Elizabeth’s designs; She believes in bringing back to life the magic of dark romanticism mixed with a surrealistic feel. beauty and undeniably is her work – yet often sinister, slightly frightening and extravagant to the point of garish. She looks to create pieces and stories that often have a dream like quality to them.
Part of her philosophy as well is that she believes in quality over quantity. She believes that we as a society and a culture would stop mass consumption we would not be in a better world; In that way we will cherish the planet we live on and will have more value to the things we consume.
“Its a fiction in out reality, but the reality, this reality is in another dimensional reality, not less real than the one in which we live in.”
