100% Prickly pear seed oil (Opuntia Ficus Indica)

The farm where this fruit is grown, is in the middle of “nowhere” this region where there is no factories, almost no industries. This “nowhere” is the place where prickly pear is abundant. It does  not need rain and this environment produces the best quality of fruit in the country. The fruit itself is known for multiple health benefits and the farm learned that there is oil in every seed, they analyzed the seeds and found that it’s components were also exceptional.
To produce one liter (34 fl ounces) of pure Sabrah requires picking by hand 2000 pounds of fruit from a cactus with the fruit full of little thorns. The fruits are then transported to the factory by people carrying them or transported by car. In the factory they wash the cactus to take off the thorns, cut it and separate the seeds and fruit by hand in a sterile environment. The seed itself contains only 5% of the oil. It’s not an oily seed compared to grapes or argan. There are up to 300
seeds in each fruit. Once the seeds are separated, they must be washed with water and brushed to make sure there no fruit residue around the seeds. This process is extremely time consuming and makes all the difference when it comes to the purity of the oil. This is not done by most producers.
Others omit this step and produce a lesser quality oil and sell it for less!  The seeds are sun-dried  and then cold pressed in special patented green process extraction machine created by the farm  discipline of this hard work is the recipe to make sure it’s pure and preserve its benefits. Very labor-intensive, This the premium price!
The production of Sabrah also helps reduce unemployment and empowers men and women farmers in Tunisia, ultimately strengthening their community. Overall employment in the country is high. More than 30% of people with bachelor degrees remain unemployed. The men spend most of their time in a coffee shop and women at home. To produce 34 fl. ounces of Sabrah oil would have 10 women and men are working full time for 10 days.
