Baronesa was conceived by the creative spirit of its founder - performer & producer, Cristina Morrison who has dedicated her life to finding the mystical essence as an inspiration for her artistic work. She’s well known to be a versatile artist and as such she reinvented herself once again launching her brand in 2022.
Baronesa - Soulfully Handcrafted in Ecuador – is a bespoke hat & accessory house that was envisioned by her trip to the Sapara indigenous community in the Ecuadorian jungle.
The brand’s DNA focuses on the sense of origin, ancestral craftsmanship and sophisticated materials. These elements, combined with Cristina's personal aesthetic, turn each hat into a "one of a kind lifestyle piece”.
As a creator, she works closely with artisans in the studio’s "ready to wear" and "custom made" lines. Each piece is unique and includes accessories with materials from different regions of Ecuador and the world. Baronesa contributes to the value chain with a fair price and one of the brand’s mission is to preserve the tradition of manual hat making.
Cristina's main studio is located in the bohemian neighborhood of Guápulo in Quito. However, she spends her time between New York, Quito and the Galapagos calling each place “her home”. She also supports social activations on the islands.
Baronesa is now available in stores in Quito, New York, Galápagos, Cartagena, Todos Santos, Cdmx. The brand has been on the runway in NYFW & has been featured in Elle, L’Officiel & Harper's Bazaar.
