VAN HISE began as a personal project uniting design and fashion through a unique approach to accessories. American designer Carrie Van Hise treats silk as a blank canvas to create her bold graphic compositions deconstructed by the movement of natural silk. A style marked by bold simple shapes, pattern, and contrasting colours results in unique statement pieces. From the Barcelona based studio limited editions and capsule collections are created outside of the traditional fashion calendar following a slow fashion philosophy. This allows more freedom to create thoughtful timeless pieces. VAN HISE collaborates with local workshops in Spain and Italy to produce the collections which are finished by hand. The original designs reflect a fusion of the experiences of living in New York and Barcelona, the urban lifestyle and the Mediterranean spirit. Inspiration is drawn from traditional folklore and the beauty in the ordinary, the light of the Mediterranean, traditional mosaic tiles, the spirit of flamenco or the forms and colors found in nature.  Van Hise scarves can be found exclusively online, in select city pop-ups and limited partnerships with relevant retail showrooms in Barcelona, Madrid and New York.
