By Cookie H. was established in New Zealand in 2008. The brand's eponymous designer, Cookie H., interned at Karen Walker, Zambesi and worked as a fashion consultant for Mr/Miss New Zealand during her studies in New Zealand.
In 2008, while studying at White Cliffe College, Cookie launched her own brand, ByCookieH. During Cookie's experience in New Zealand, she drew inspiration from the natural world and now incorporates natural fabrics for her garments. The ByCookieH. design language is predominantly anchored in a palette of black, white, and grey and each creation undergoes a meticulous process of structural manipulation and reconstruction, resulting in the emergence of innovative and aesthetically captivating designs.
Cookie's designs are based on the concept of non-season, thus criticising the environmental damage caused by over-consumption. Each piece is handmade from the brand's own studio. Cookie loves expressing her emotions and story content through irregular and unbalanced creative concepts. As she often says: "Clothes are not just fashion, but more importantly personal identity." She hopes that her designs can help the wearers bring out their own independent personalities.
