Janice Marie Jewelry, Gold Hanalei Necklace

This necklace is created by using the bead embroidery technique, where gold coated Japanese glass beads are stitched around a found object to create a bezel. The found object in this piece is a rare Hawaiian shell, that is indigenous to the island chain. The Shell At this point is called a Sunrise shell, or Langford‘s Pectin, and is a rare scallop coming in a colorful array of hues. The show is hung from a 14 karat gold filled paperclip chain and Is accompanied by faceted gemstones. The gemstones used are blue flash labradorite, Chalcedony, Turquoise, and Fire Opals. This necklace is an adjustable 18”+.
