Short beaded necklace or collar of Balinese scoria lava, Tahitian pearl, diamonds and sterling silver.

The Total Eclipse Necklace challenges convention in an unexpectedly elegant and glamorous combination of scoria lava beads surrounding a large, central Tahitian pearl set off by sparkly, pavé diamond-set oxidized spacers, with caps and clasp also in sterling silver. The necklace has been hand knotted on silk cord.

Unlike many other lava beads, those used in this necklace hold special meaning as they were made from scoria lava ejected by the sacred Mt. Agung (Gunung Agung) in Bali. For the Balinese people, Mt. Agung holds deep significance, as the home of Mahadewa, the supreme manifestation of Lord Shiva, considered by many Hindus to be the supreme deity, while legend has it that it was born from a fragment of the holy mountain, Mt. Meru, which is believed to be the connection between heaven and earth and the center of all universes, physical, metaphysical, and spiritual.
